I've never been someone who could pick just one lane.
From a math degree to competitive snowboarding, years as a seamstress, and six years in social media strategy, every chapter has shaped the way I approach design today.
Now I get to combine strategy, creativity, and storytelling to build websites that feel as unique as the businesses behind them.
When I'm not designing, I'm usually surfing, running, or enjoying a slow morning by the beach.
For a long time, I thought I was chasing flexibility.
I built my career in social media because it checked all the boxes. It was creative. It was analytical. It gave me the freedom to work remotely and build a life outside of a traditional office, which I always knew was NOT for me.
But "flexible" started feeling a lot like unstable.
I bounced between agencies, watched contracts disappear overnight when clients left, and got laid off more than once because leadership couldn't keep the lights on. None of it had anything to do with the quality of my work — it was just part of the industry.
I tried freelancing on my own, but it never really clicked, because I was trying to sell something I didn't fully believe in. I also spent time in video editing, which I genuinely loved, but the demand never quite matched the hours it took.
By the time I was about to buy another course promising to help me grow a social media business, I'd basically accepted that maybe this was just how work was going to feel.
Then I saw a five-second TikTok about web design.
I watched the webinar, booked a sales call the next day, and honestly, I knew before I even hung up the phone.
For the first time, I wasn't trying to force anything. I was excited, and I knew this was the direction I was supposed to go.
These days, when I'm not designing, you'll usually find me chasing waves. I'm a South Jersey native and an avid surfer, which is exactly where HYTIDE gets its name.
